Description

The KDP110 digital piano delivers the touch of a fine acoustic instrument through its new 3-sensor Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action that authentically replicates the natural motion and feel of an acoustic piano. Bluetooth® and USB-MIDI connectivity and an upgraded control panel offer a cutting-edge playing experience for the player. Two headphone jacks offer enhanced learning opportunities for both teacher and student. With impressive sounds (including the renowned Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand Piano), the KDP110 of the KDP Series sets the standard for a high-quality digital piano technology at a competitive price.

The KDP110’s brand new Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano. Based on the highly-regarded RH keyboard action design, its spring-less technology and sturdy construction delivers consistent upward and downward motion for a smooth, natural, and highly authentic piano playing experience.

The KDP110 digital piano captures the beautiful sound of Kawai’s highly acclaimed SK-EX concert grand piano, with all 88 keys of this exceptional instrument meticulously recorded, analysed and faithfully reproduced using advanced Harmonic Imaging technology.

Harmonic Imaging technology

When playing a fine piano, the amount of pressure applied to the keyboard affects not only the volume of the sound produced, but also the unique tonal character of each note.  Therefore, in order to construct a realistic acoustic portrait of the SK-EX concert grand piano, not only is each key recorded individually, but also at various different volumes, ranging from gentle pianissimo to thunderous fortissimo.

The KDP110 offers a highly detailed acoustic portrait, employing Kawai’s proprietary Harmonic Imaging sampling technology to ensure smooth tonal transitions across the keyboard and throughout the entire dynamic range.

Reverbs, noises, & resonances

Additional reverberation effects that simulate the acoustic environment of a recital room, live stage, or concert hall are also applied, with settings to adjust voicing, sympathetic resonance, and other acoustic characteristics. The result is a rich, vibrant piano tone that delivers breathtaking realism and authenticity.

BLUETOOTH®

In addition to USB-MIDI and standard MIDI connectors, the KDP110 also boasts integrated Bluetooth MIDI technology, allowing the digital piano to communicate with supported smart devices wirelessly. Once paired with a phone, tablet, or laptop, KDP110 owners can easily expand the instrument’s functionality with a wide range of education, performance, and scoring apps.

GRAND FEEL PEDAL SYSTEM

The KDP110 features three pedals – soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability). The new Grand Feel Pedal System reproduces the individual weighting of the damper, sostenuto and una corda pedals of the Kawai EX concert grand.

SUPERIOR HEADPHONE EXPERIENCE

The KDP110’s Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) technology enhances the depth and realism of the instrument’s sound when listening through headphones or earphones. In addition, the KDP110 also allows players to select a variety of headphone types (Open, Semi-open, Closed, In-Ear, Canal, etc.) for an optimised listening experience.

Additional sounds & playing modes

Supplementing its realistic acoustic piano voices, the KDP110 also offers a selection of additional instrument sounds, including electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, vibraphone, and strings.

The Dual playing mode also allows two different voices, such as an acoustic piano and a string ensemble, to be played together for a more complex sound that inspires even greater musical creativity.

The KDP110 offers an easy to use 3-Song built-in Recorder, ideal for self-evaluation or capturing a moment of inspiration.
